DJ Cow Tse Tung Presents The Bollywood Plagiarism Soundclash, Vol 3

3 years too late with Volume 3 of the Bollywood Plagiarism Soundclash, but plagiarism is alive and kicking in Bollywood - its not a question of enough material, but the time to locate and collate the myriad range of plagiarized tracks. In fact, I even considered making this a double album - perhaps I can release Volume 4 within the year.

This one kicks off with a terrible copy of Cotton Eye Joy, the copied version borrowing lyrically in part from "Nothing Compares to You", winds through Rachid Taha, Mory Kante, The Buggles, and Billy Idol, which is a credit to the diverse range of music Bollywood music directors listen to. I close off with an Ennio Morricone epilogue to give your ears some much-deserved peace.  Enjoy!

1. Koi Nahin Tere Jaisa (Keemat) vs Cotton Eye Joe by Red Nex
2. Soot Boot Mein (Kishen Kanhaiya) vs Iko Iko by the Belle Stars
3. Coming Coming Coming (Rang) vs Karma Chameleon by Culture Club
4. Kali Nagin Jaise (Mann) vs Ya Rayah by Rachid Taha
5. Tamma Tamma Loge (Thanedaar) vs Tama by Mory Kante
6. Koi Yahan Nache Nache (Disco Dancer) vs Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles
7. Akele Hain (Qayammat se Qayammat Tak) vs Return to Alamo by The Shadows
8. Koi Nahin Aisa (Dillagi) vs Mony Mony by Billy Idol
9. In the Night No Control (Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi) vs Self Control by Laura Branigan)
10. Tu Woh Tu Hai (Beqabu) vs The Good, The Bad and the Ugly Theme by Ennio Morricone)

Music Release: Zahelu 2154

Went and watched Avatar in 3D on 22nd, and was so impressed that I needed another fix in 2D on the 23rd. For all detractors who want the RDA's ex-Marine mercenaries and the tribal inhabitants of Pandora to spurt out complex, pseudo-philosophical dialogues, please watch the movie for what it is, and enjoy the experience. James Cameron has created a masterpiece with such depth (if you're willing to "see"), that I'm finding it terribly difficult to shrug off the messages this movie contained. From a spiritual viewpoint, I'm especially fascinated by Zahelu - what a great concept - the "bond" between all living things. Also, the phrase "I see you" - much like the true meaning of "Namaste", which I was once told by a White South African convert to Hinduism is about greeting people's inner spiritual goodness. And finally, how every living thing was connected - a network of networks, sans the en masse silicon micro-chipping of all things living and dead.

Also, I've decided to rename my latest dub techno/minimalist release under the Cow Tse Tung Sound System nom de plume, using our favorite VSTi, the Cakewalk Z3TA to "Zahelu 2154" instead of the work-in-progress name of "Househunter" (I started writing this track in 2007 whilst hunting for my first home, but put it the track on the backburner, because I couldn't get the right sound from whatever VSTi I was using then). Reminds me of Panopticon and early 90s Leftfield.

Zahelu, make the bond!

Music Release: Mass Hypnotism

Okay, time for a new release again. This one is called Mass Hypnotism, and is my musical commentary on the Barack Obama effect. I was very disappointed that the masses didn't pick the experience of John McCain, choosing instead to fall for Obama's populist rhetoric, but anyway, America is not my country and the trillion dollar deficit is their problem.

The track has been created using Albino and Blue VSTi's, and was composed in FL Studio, with finishing touches added in Ableton Live 6. I also used the Fruity Parametric Equalizer for the first time - and its not a bad effect at all! The genre is bigbeat, but with the dark undertones, I'd even call it an upbeat trip-hop track!
