3 years too late with Volume 3 of the Bollywood Plagiarism Soundclash, but plagiarism is alive and kicking in Bollywood - its not a question of enough material, but the time to locate and collate the myriad range of plagiarized tracks. In fact, I even considered making this a double album - perhaps I can release Volume 4 within the year.

This one kicks off with a terrible copy of Cotton Eye Joy, the copied version borrowing lyrically in part from "Nothing Compares to You", winds through Rachid Taha, Mory Kante, The Buggles, and Billy Idol, which is a credit to the diverse range of music Bollywood music directors listen to. I close off with an Ennio Morricone epilogue to give your ears some much-deserved peace.  Enjoy!

Music Release: Mass Hypnotism

Okay, time for a new release again. This one is called Mass Hypnotism, and is my musical commentary on the Barack Obama effect. I was very disappointed that the masses didn't pick the experience of John McCain, choosing instead to fall for Obama's populist rhetoric, but anyway, America is not my country and the trillion dollar deficit is their problem.



The track has been created using Albino and Blue VSTi's, and was composed in FL Studio, with finishing touches added in Ableton Live 6. I also used the Fruity Parametric Equalizer for the first time - and its not a bad effect at all! The genre is bigbeat, but with the dark undertones, I'd even call it an upbeat trip-hop track!

Music Release: El Stupido Los Indios Idiotas

Okay, its that time again - I've had the tune in my head for at least 5-6 years, but instead of doing a Latintronica/Nortec version, I've ended up with a tribal-techno track, styled much like Kick Bong's "Progress in Happiness" and some old skool Medicine Drum, Goa Gil and the like. Makes use of a tabla based beat, interspersed with tribal sounds and pumping techno sonics. Extensive utilization of VSTi's including Rob Papen's Blue, Albino, and Swar Systems' Swarplug.

Samples Lao Ma from "Xena, Warrior Princess" saying "To conquer others is to have power. To conquer yourself is to know the way." . The cover is an alpha rendering of a shot from "Eyes Wide Shut".

Not merely "dream house" or "dream trance" but a "theme for a wet dream". That's it - my next job will be creating corny catchphrases for shitty music albums. Just say the word. FIDELIO.

Music Release: Positivity Is Infectious (Return of the Bigbeat)

I recently came across criticism of Dr Norman Vincent Peale's "Power of Positive Thinking" methodology as being nothing more than self-hypnosis. How does it matter what it borrows from or is a manifestation of, if it leads to tangible results and desired outcomes?



Track's called "Positivity Is Infectious" [had a working title of Return of the Bigbeat]. The drum loop is called "Apache" and its freely available all over the web. Production was done in FL Studio, and makes extensive use of the Blue VSTi by Rob Papen. Post production was done in Ableton Live 6, and the vocal sample is that of Wes Bentley from "American Beauty". Listen online or download free mp3.

This one's called Exporting Nepotism. Uses the VSTis Poizone and Vanguard. Composed in FL Studio. Includes a sample from Austin Powers/Goldmember, where Goldmember, in his funny Dutch accent goes "Welcome to 1975 Austin Powers and father". I don't really know how to classify the music, but I'd say its somewhere between Goa, old school dance and house - I just call it "techno". Unclassifiable techno. Like Underworld. Or CJ Bolland? Anyway, yeah. So I'm having trouble classifying my music as always - can't seem to stick to one genre at a time, which is probably a result of listening to a variety of styles. This one shifts between ambient and dub, but isn't either, or an amalgamation.

Qwerty Pwerty (The Digital Divide)

I'm becoming the poor man's version of Bluetech, OTT, and Shpongle. Here's an ambient dub track I call "Qwerty Pwerty", which deals with the pressing issue of the ever-widening digital divide. Haal Kaisa Hai Gutbuster Ka (A Bollywood Mashup featuring Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle pitted against Bentley Rhythm Ace)

I can feel every muscle and sinew(ache) in my body today. Even ones I never knew existed. All thanks to a mind-boggling 6 hours of Darklight laser tagging, where I fared reasonably alright (rankings of 5, 4, 9, 14, 21, 19, 1, 3). So, as a result of not being able to move without considerable discomfort, I decided to kill time by "fixing" up some Bollywood tracks to suit my own quirky taste in music.

With the quantity of unfinished music I release in the name of experimentalism and creative overflows, I could be competing with Muslimgauze pretty soon, the only differences being that he had talent, was signed to a label and was a rebel with a cause.

We stick to the Bollywood theme, continuing from the previous couple of releases. And these aren't the regular Bollywood mashups, mixed to hip-hop beats, and some boring kid trying his hand at rapping. They all have a distinctly digital/electronic flavor to them, because that's pretty much the only kind of music I like.

If you love bands like Gotan Project, and artistes like Bebel Gilberto, you'd do well to get hold of 60s and 70s Bollywood music. Anyway, so this is my first trip into supposedly lacking-in-credibility Bollywood mashup-making.



Featuring the reggae-tinged Bollywood hit, from the movie Aradhana, "Roop Tera Mastana", with On-U Sound kingpin, Adrian Sherwood's Indian tinged dub track from his fabulous solo release, Never Trust A Hippy, "Hari Up Hari", DJ Cow Tse Tung and MC Rasta D'Sasta are proud to present, "Hippie Tera Mastana", featuring vocals by Bollywood playback singer and actor, Kishore Kumar.
