Haal Kaisa Hai Gutbuster Ka (A Bollywood Mashup featuring Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle pitted against Bentley Rhythm Ace)

I can feel every muscle and sinew(ache) in my body today. Even ones I never knew existed. All thanks to a mind-boggling 6 hours of Darklight laser tagging, where I fared reasonably alright (rankings of 5, 4, 9, 14, 21, 19, 1, 3). So, as a result of not being able to move without considerable discomfort, I decided to kill time by "fixing" up some Bollywood tracks to suit my own quirky taste in music.

With the quantity of unfinished music I release in the name of experimentalism and creative overflows, I could be competing with Muslimgauze pretty soon, the only differences being that he had talent, was signed to a label and was a rebel with a cause.

We stick to the Bollywood theme, continuing from the previous couple of releases. And these aren't the regular Bollywood mashups, mixed to hip-hop beats, and some boring kid trying his hand at rapping. They all have a distinctly digital/electronic flavor to them, because that's pretty much the only kind of music I like.

The Cow Tse Tung Sound System proudly presents the next Bollywood mashup in the series, "Haal Kaisa Hai Gutbuster Ka", featuring the Asha Bhosle-Kishore Kumar hit from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, "Haal Kaisa Hai Janab Ka" mashed up with "Theme From Gutbuster" by the prankster bigbeat duo of Bentley Rhythm Ace, ex-Pop Will Eat Itself. Hippie Tera Mastana (A Bollywood Mashup; Kishore Kumar vs Adrian Sherwood)

If you love bands like Gotan Project, and artistes like Bebel Gilberto, you'd do well to get hold of 60s and 70s Bollywood music. Anyway, so this is my first trip into supposedly lacking-in-credibility Bollywood mashup-making.

Featuring the reggae-tinged Bollywood hit, from the movie Aradhana, "Roop Tera Mastana", with On-U Sound kingpin, Adrian Sherwood's Indian tinged dub track from his fabulous solo release, Never Trust A Hippy, "Hari Up Hari", DJ Cow Tse Tung and MC Rasta D'Sasta are proud to present, "Hippie Tera Mastana", featuring vocals by Bollywood playback singer and actor, Kishore Kumar. As we lack credibility, I thought we'd go for incredibility. Listen online NOW, or download free mp3.

The Cow Tse Tung translation of the lyrics is:
"Your figure is funky
Make no mistakes while f*ckin' ".
Crude and senseless? I know - but at least I didn't write the original lyrics. Visual Bollywood mashups and spoofs available on our sister blog, The Bollywood Cowbserver, United Nations Organization certified intruder.

Watch the original video of Roop Tera Mastana, featuring Bollywood actor and Member of Parliament, Rajesh Khanna and Saif Ali Khan's mommy, Sharmila Tug-whore Tagore here. Or on this blog...

Moaning Cash Machine (Hard Fi vs Underworld Mashup Release)

Been a while since I posted a mashup. This one pits two great British acts, and might I say, both have dance-rock allegiances.

DJ Cow Tse Tung proudly presents the next mix in the "Another Low Quality Mix" mashup series, the thumping "Moaning Cash Machine", which pits Hard-Fi's "Cash Machine" against Underworld's "Moaner" which also featured on one of the Batman movies. Listen, or download a free mp3 NOW!!

Start Of A Dreadlock Holiday

Might be an idea for the Cricket World Cup organizers to use this track as their official song. Yea, right!

Not my favorite mix, but someone else out there might like it - yeah, after months of avoiding this mashup, I've finally succumbed to search engine pressure (rrrrright - hardly get any visitors here)...presenting 10cc's "Dreadlock Holiday" with the Drumattic Twins' "Start of Something" in "Start Of A Dreadlock Holiday". Only one dub. Listen, or download mp3.

This is a funny-ass version of Madonna's "Hung Up" in Spanish. Watch below...

Been listening to Enter Shikari, a British trance-rock band, or so they call these guys. Not a new concept, as much as the media would have you believe, but the sound is great. "Spawn" OST reborn.

Spawn: The Album was released in July 1997 and brought together popular rock bands at the time including Metallica, Korn, Marilyn Manson and Silverchair with well known DJs and producers such as The Crystal Method, Roni Size, and Atari Teenage Riot. A similar concept was previously implemented on the rock/hip-hop fused Judgement Night soundtrack. The album debuted at #7 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and stayed in the chart for 25 weeks.

A Little Light To Take Me Up The Steps (R.X.R.A. vs Dreadzone Mashup Release!)

This week, DJ Cow Tse Tung presents some Hispanic sounding dub-house (Nortec, anyone?) by Dreadzone (R.I.P. Steve Roberts) in the form of "First Steps" mashed up with a great tune off the Fifth Element OST (end credits) by Eric Serra, or R.X.R.A., "Little Light of Love". We call the mashup "A Little Light To Take Me Up The Steps", Collodel Kalamunda Edit after this great little Italian ice-cream place (we recommend the pistachio flavored gelato) in the Perth Hills suburb of Kalamunda, where we were today. Ms CTT and myself went to Rebel Sports to get ourselves Cricket Australia flags and little CA ducks - and I went...wow, Glenn McGrath dolls!
Next thing I know...SLAP.
Yes. Ms CTT it was.

Finally, a very happy birthday to GK. Hope you have a great year ahead.

Another Space Shanty In The Wall [A Pink Floyd Vs Leftfield Mashup Release]

Another mashup in the wall. Yes, here's the Pink Floyd classic, "Another Brick In The Wall" married with Leftfield's "Space Shanty". We call the lovechild "Another Space Shanty In The Wall [DJ Cow Tse Tung's 100% Flunkie Edit]" . Listen, or download free mp3. We don't need no education. Or do we?

In other news, I really like Nadia Ali, of IIO/Rapture fame. That's critical news, alright?

Hey! Ya Missing Tracey, Andre 3K?

'Twas the most secret of secret dalliances in the music industry. Tracey Thorn, from Everything But The Girl and Andre 3000 from Outkast. And lovelorn Andre, what did he do to serenade his beloved? Sing her hit, "Missing" to the tune of his own hit, "Hey Ya".

Cupid incarnate, DJ Cow Tse Tung presents the Everything But The Girl vs. Outkast mashup, "Hey! Ya Missing Tracey, Andre?" Sure she is - Todd Terry's long gone. Listen online, or download free mp3.

Reminds of the time I was in a Nissan (sobs, my beloved Pulsar went to the grave last Monday) Skyline with two Bangladeshis and a Hyderabadi, who were chewing my brains off with the worst rendition of "Hey Ya" ever. Lucky Andre 3000 wasn't around - he would sure have shot them, and then not missed them.

I Kiss You In Amerika!
