DJ Cow Tse Tung Presents The Bollywood Plagiarism Soundclash, Vol 2

'Tis time for version deux to be released. Yes, from the refrains of a high-pitched, Indianized rendition of Bob Marley' "Buffalo Soldier" with lyrics talking about dates at "chowks" (roundabouts) to Jah Screechie's "Walk and Skank" becoming a refrain about a spoilt brat?!
I give up. As Indian Ropeman, aka Sanjiv Sen says on Elephant Sound, "Listen, learn, and enjoy".

Tracklist:

1. Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen (Baazigar) vs The Man Who Plays the Mandolino by Dean Martin

2. Le Pappiyan Jhappiyan (Haqeeqat) vs Tequila by The Champs

3. Dole Dole Dil Dole (Baazi) vs Come September by Lulu

4. Jab Bhi Koi Haseena (Hera Pheri) vs Return of the Mack by Mark Morrison

5. Aate Jaate (Maine Pyar Kiya) vs I Just Called To Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder

6. Hello Hello Bolke (Aakrosh) vs Buffalo Soldier by Bob Marley

7. Pehli Pehli Baar (Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai) vs Born To Be Alive by Patrick Hernandez

8. Kambakht Ishq (Pyar Tune Kya Kiya) vs Eireann by Afro Celt Sound System

9. Jai Maa Kali (Karan Arjun) vs Alright by East 17

10. Amma Dekh (Stuntman) vs On A Ragga Tip by SL2 (sampling Jah Screechie)

I must apologize for repeating the "Pehli Pehli Baar/Patrick Hernandez" track - forgot to check if it had already been included in version 1, and by the time I'd uploaded the mix (and realized my folly), I couldn't be bothered mixing this one all over again from scratch.

Take a listen...

Music Release: Voyeur's Lullaby (Risque Business Edit)

First new track for 2008! This one's called "Voyeur's Lullaby", and makes use of the Rob Papen VSTi, "Blue", the Predator VSTi, and a heavily tweaked Sytrus "Moon Ray 2" option (Additional production using Ableton Live 6). Listen online or download free mp3.

Samples Lao Ma from "Xena, Warrior Princess" saying "To conquer others is to have power. To conquer yourself is to know the way." . The cover is an alpha rendering of a shot from "Eyes Wide Shut".

Not merely "dream house" or "dream trance" but a "theme for a wet dream". That's it - my next job will be creating corny catchphrases for shitty music albums. Just say the word. FIDELIO.

Lost MP3s, Data Recovery, and LisaNova (ahhhhh)!

Man, I've just lost about 110 gigs of music, including work-in-progress compositions and pirated MP3s. Damn. I'd put 'em all on an external Maxtor storage device, and one fine day, I get a Windows Write Delay error. I ignore it, unplug and replug the USB device, and one fine day, to my astonishment, the directory structure has become a massive blob of nothingness. Now that I've fucked up Superannuation/Wealth Management certification exam, I might get around to fixing my multitude of computer woes. Actually, I haven't "just" lost the data- its been lost for a week or thereabouts, hence the repeat tracks on my Last.fm XML feed. Yes, I have limited choice in music, finally. And my anivirus has run out - time to format the hard disk, or make a visit to "FreeBay". HAHA! So yes, while I really want to release a new track, my 20 or so half-ready compositions have been "lost".

Next up, Fadereu, "that" IIT dude who ran CSF/DesiMediaBitch has come up with this fascinating piece of audio-video technology.

Whilst on YouTube, I love LisaNova - she's hot, she's funny, her accents crack me up, and she's going to be famous as. Check out her skits - worth the bandwidth. And this video - Beck would be proud.

Music Release: Positivity Is Infectious (Return of the Bigbeat)

I recently came across criticism of Dr Norman Vincent Peale's "Power of Positive Thinking" methodology as being nothing more than self-hypnosis. How does it matter what it borrows from or is a manifestation of, if it leads to tangible results and desired outcomes?

Track's called "Positivity Is Infectious" [had a working title of Return of the Bigbeat]. The drum loop is called "Apache" and its freely available all over the web. Production was done in FL Studio, and makes extensive use of the Blue VSTi by Rob Papen. Post production was done in Ableton Live 6, and the vocal sample is that of Wes Bentley from "American Beauty". Listen online or download free mp3.

Music release: Seraphim Descent

Finally, a track release after all these months! This one was produced in FL Studio and mastered in Ableton. I call it Seraphim Descent and it sounds like old school Balearic trance with a tinge of Goa/Psy. Listen or download free mp3.
