While this is my first phone in over 4 years sans a traditional QWERTY, or even a modified Nokia keyboard, the mobile has some really nifty features, including:
- WLAN connectivity: I can go wardriving with my mobile!!
- Voice commands: I have like a goatrance ringtone, with this computerized voice going, "DINESH GANESH", or "JORDAN WANNABE", or whatever weird name I've tagged my contacts with. Its very "Boom Shankar". Don Shiva would be proud of me.
- Bluetooth: I can exchange pictures and shit without the need for wasting precious pennies on the dreaded MMS format.
- GPS: Haven't used this just yet - might prove to be pretty costly.
That's all I really care about. For more information, click here.
The one issue that I did encounter with the new phone was not being able to send SMSs, with a message saying "unable to send SMS" coming up every time I tried. This was easily solved by Optus Mobile support, who advised playing with my Message Centre settings, and swapping the existent number on my current Message Centre profile with one supplied by my service provider, viz. YES Optus. The name of the default message centre in this case is SMSC1, and the actual number to use is +61411990001.
In other news, I'm trying to figure out a way to restrict effects to a single Pattern in FL Studio, but I just can't get it. Maybe its time to give Acid and Reason a shot.
